What Is a Roll-Off Dumpster?

Open Top, Easy Load — Here’s How It Works

A roll-off dumpster is a large open-top metal container that a truck literally rolls off the back onto your property — that’s where the name comes from. Unlike a front-load dumpster (the kind apartment complexes have that gets emptied by a garbage truck), a roll-off has no lid, no door you have to figure out, and no tricky mechanism. You just throw stuff in from the top or through a swing-out rear door.

The truck backs up, the container slides down two steel rails and lands flat on your driveway, parking lot, or job site. When you’re done filling it, we back the truck up again, hook it, and roll it back on. Simple, rugged, and built for moving large amounts of debris fast.

Roll-offs are the right tool for any project where you’re generating more waste than fits in a few pickup loads — renovations, cleanouts, construction debris, roofing, landscaping, moving. If you’re making more than 3 truck trips to a landfill, a roll-off saves you time and money.

Container Sizes & Specs

All Four Roll-Off Sizes — Dimensions, Capacity & Pricing

Pick the size that matches your project. When in doubt, go one size up — a bigger container is almost always worth it vs. overfilling or paying for a second trip.

Delivery Process

How Roll-Off Delivery Works, Start to Finish

The process is simple. Here’s exactly what to expect from call to pickup.

1

Call & Book Your Size

Call (806) 414-7200, tell us your address, which size you need, and where on your property you want it placed. We confirm availability and give you a delivery window.

2

Driver Arrives, Rolls It Off

Our truck backs into your driveway or site access point. The container slides down the rails and lands exactly where you want it. Takes about 5 minutes.

3

Fill It at Your Pace

You have 7 days standard rental time. Work at your speed — throw material in from the top or use the rear swing door for heavy loads. Don’t overfill above the container walls.

4

We Pick It Up

Call when you’re done. We schedule a pickup, the truck backs up, hooks the container, and rolls it back on. Your property is clear and the debris is gone. Done.

Questions

Roll-Off Dumpster FAQ

Will the dumpster damage my driveway?
Usually not. Our drivers place boards under the contact points to protect concrete and asphalt. Standard driveways handle 10 and 20-yard containers without issue. Heavier loads or 30/40-yard containers on older driveways can occasionally cause minor cracking — if you’re concerned about a specific surface, just ask us when you call and we’ll give you an honest assessment.
How much clearance does the truck need?
The delivery truck needs about 60 feet of straight clearance to back in and roll the container off, plus about 23 feet of overhead clearance (for utility lines, tree branches, etc.). Most standard Lubbock driveways work fine. If you have a tight or unusual driveway, tell us when you book and we’ll troubleshoot before the truck shows up.
What happens if I go over the weight limit?
If your load exceeds the weight limit for your container, there’s an overage fee based on the additional tonnage. This most often happens with concrete, brick, or heavy soil. If you’re loading anything exceptionally heavy, call us first — we can advise on the right container size or whether to split the load.
Can I keep the dumpster longer than 7 days?
Yes. Standard rental is 7 days. If you need more time, call us before the rental period ends and we’ll extend it. Extended rental rates are reasonable — we’re not going to penalize you for taking an extra couple of days on a big project.

Roll-Off Dumpster Delivery in Lubbock — What to Expect

A roll-off dumpster arrives on a truck with a hydraulic system that tilts and rolls the container off the bed onto your property. The driver positions it exactly where you want it — driveway, side yard, or parking lot. We bring driveway protection boards on every residential job so the container’s weight doesn’t crack or pit your concrete or asphalt.

Placement matters more than most people realize. Too close to the garage door and you can’t swing it open while loading. Too far from the work area and you’re carrying debris farther than you need to. Our drivers ask where your project is happening and position the container for the shortest load distance. It’s a small thing that saves hours over a multi-day job.

For active job sites on Loop 289 or in Lubbock County, we can coordinate delivery with your site supervisor. We’ve worked with most of the major GCs in the Lubbock area — if your team has specific placement requirements, just let us know when you call.
